SLL PHASES/PROCESS
PHASE 1: School Project Definition
- Client School Identification – This included the application and selection process as well as meeting with prospective applicants.
- Entry and Kick Off – This included an initial meeting and interview with the school principal to review project outcomes, collect data about the school, identify school team members, and plan for the needs assessment.
- School Needs Assessment – This day-long event involved the school principal and team in three needs assessment activities. The results were used to define up to three draft service needs.
- Collaborative Review Process (with SuperEd Members) – At this half-day meeting school representatives and service providers reviewed and refined the school’s needs and identified potential services to meet these needs.
- Chartering & Action Planning – The school team prepared a “request for proposal (RFP)” regarding what need they want to work on, what service they require, outcomes they hope for and any parameters they require. The RFP is then sent to the service provider(s) of their choice and the two parties negotiate a charter for the services.
PHASE 2: School Project Implementation
- Monitoring & Documenting – During this phase the SLL Facilitator worked with both the school team and the service provider to monitor and document the services as they were delivered, and created an assessment plan to assess the process, results and impact.
PHASE 3: School Project Review and Closure
- Project Closure – Once the services had been delivered according to the charter and the SLL Facilitator had implemented the assessment plan, the data was analyzed and presented to the school team and service providers for review. The SLL Facilitator also created a school summary that provides an overview of the project.
